
The enduring theme of my work is the human form and "how precisely, beautifully and admirably it is constructed". The multi-layered effect that defines my work is the direct result of years of trial and error. Working mostly from life drawings, either clothed or nude, my treatment of each piece is still experimental, being dictated by the model's pose and attitude.
Although my art education has been informal, there is no phase in my life that has not enhanced my artistic knowledge and practice.
In 2005 I moved to Brisbane and started painting seriously; life drawing with the Half Dozen Group and exhibiting regularly at the Robyn Bauer Gallery in Paddington (now Gallery 54).
Recently I relocated to Melbourne where I'm finding new inspiration in the huge and exciting art scene in this city.
